30 240 cans of beer seized by customs officers at Danube Bridge 2 border checkpoint

30 240 metal cans of beer were seized by Customs officers from Customs of Lom during a check on a truck at Danube Bridge 2 border checkpoint.
On 07.11.2017, Customs officers from Customs Intelligence and Investigation at Customs of Lom select the incoming truck with a Polish registration for check. Customs officers found that one of the goods carried in the truck was 20 pallets containing ARGUS beer in 30 240 metal boxes or a total of 15 120 liters of beer. Customs officers found that beer is being transported in violation of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act, the excise duty due is not paid or secured.
The beer was seized in a warehouse at Customs of Lom. Control samples were taken for analysis and administrative proceeding was initiated on the case. The work on the case continues.
Another 30 800 bottles of over 10 000 liters of beer were detained by customs officers in the area of Danube Bridge 2 Vidin - Calafat in October. The beer transported in violation of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act was found by a mobile customs team from Customs of Lom in a truck traveling from the Czech Republic to Bulgaria.
