Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP found 33 600 pieces smuggled cigarettes, hidden in the secrets of a truck


A new attempt to transfer smuggled cigarettes was prevented by the customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo  BCP. Customs officers found 33 600 pieces /1680 boxes/ smuggled cigarettes, when checking a truck with Turkish registration, entering the country in October 5, 2018. Customs officers selected the truck for X-ray check and physical check. During the inspection customs officers found 1680 boxes cigarettes, hidden in both spare tires, as well as in three more places around the tanks, the rear of the driver's cab and the air ducts. The smuggled cigarettes, with brand „Marlboro gold" without Bulgarian excise stamps, were seized. A statement for violation of the Law on Customs was issued against the driver.

For nine days in October, customs officials detained 209,560 pieces (10,478 boxes) smuggled cigarettes and 6 kilograms of smoking tobacco.
