72.905 kg of cannabis was seized by customs officers at the Kalotina BCP. 

On 14.08.2024, a Turkish freight train arrives at the entrance to the Republic of Bulgaria, which, according to documents, transports engines for cars. By the method of risk analysis, the truck was selected for inspection. X-ray inspection was carried out. In physical check customs officers found 10 plastic bags filled with packages containing dry grassy mass. During the field drug test, it was found that the content reacted to cannabis.

The narcotic substance with a total weight of 72,905 grams, the value of which amounts to about BGN 1,150,000, was seized.

Sufficient evidence has been collected for the guilt of the driver, a citizen of Turkey, 31 years old. He was charged with smuggling a narcotic substance across the country.
