Nearly 1000 children's clothes with the image of Mickey Mouse were detained by customs officers of Kapitan Andreevo BCP

Nearly 1,000 children's clothes with the image of Mickey Mouse were detained by customs officers during an inspection of two trucks of the Kapitan Andreevo BCP. About one third (330) of the 939 children's textiles (blouses, baby and children's sets) were found in a truck with Romanian registration, inspected by customs officers from Customs Intelligence and Investigation DG and Yuzhna Morska TD  on 23.05.2020. Two days later, on 25.05.2020, during an inspection of another truck, this time with Polish registration, the customs officers found another 609 children's clothes with the cartoon character Mickey Mouse. The textiles were seized on suspicion of infringing the rights of the trademark owned by Disney. In addition to children's goods, another 4,661 clothes, again decorated with registered trademarks, were found in the two trucks transporting groupage goods of textiles. Among them, sports sets, T-shirts, as well as dresses and women's trousers, wearing 11 world-famous brands, most of them of Adidas, Nike, Givenchy, Fila, Armani, Calvin Clein, Tommy Hilfiger, predominate. Among the goods seized during the second inspection are 134 women's bags, branded with the verbal image of Gucci, Emporio, Armani, VLTN. The goods were seized. In compliance with EU Regulation No 608/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council and the Law on Brands and Geographic Indications, the products were seized and the rights owners of the relevant brands will be informed about the seizure.
