Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP found more than two kilograms of heroin in boxes of Turkish delight

Customs officers from Territorial Directorate „Yuzhna Morska“ and  General Directorate "Customs Intelligence and Investigation" found more than two kilograms of heroin at during the inspection in a bus.
On June 26, 2019, in the Kapitan Andreevo BCP, bus with Turkish registration arrived, traveled from the Republic of Turkey to the Romania. Customs officers selected the bus with 31 passengers for thorough check. One passenger, an Iranian citizen, declares to customs officials that he is carrying 3 kg of hookah tobacco. The of hookah tobacco were seized it exceeds the norm for duty-free import. During the inspection a customs officer discovers a polyethylene bag full of boxes of Turkish delight and baklava in the passenger's luggage. In some of the boxes of Turkish delight customs officer finds packages contained beige powder. The drug test responded to heroin. The total amount of the heroin was 2.170 kilos for than BGN 130 200.
A pre court proceeding was initiated on the case. At the request of the Prosecutor's Office of Haskovo court set detention "custody" against of Iranian citizen.
