Over 13,000 "branded" goods were seized customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP
Over half of the goods were detected during a centralized risk analysis
11,379 textile products, 903 pairs of shoes and 1,037 bags with trademark signs were seized customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP. The goods were seized due to suspicions of intellectual property rights violations. They were detected during separate inspections of four trucks entering the country from Turkey.
A large quantity of textile products was detected in two trucks with foreign registration on 22.04.2026. The drivers with foreign citizenship presented regular documents for the transported groupage goods from Turkey via Bulgaria to Bosnia and Herzegovina. After a centralized risk analysis, the vehicles were selected for a thorough customs inspection. During the control actions, among the declared goods in one of the trucks, 30 parcels with 4798 textile products were found, most of them men's shirts, as well as 120 pairs of sports shoes and 124 bags, all with the logos of world-famous brands. In the other truck, out of a total of 250 parcels in 33, 2054 clothes, 1190 hats, 643 pairs of shoes and 77 bags with word and figurative images of famous brands were found.
In the next two days, on 23 and 24.04.2026, during two separate checks of trucks with Turkish registration, a total of 4313 "branded" goods were found, including 3337 clothes, 140 pairs of shoes and 836 bags.
In implementation of European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the goods were seized. The owners of the respective trademarks will be notified of the cases.
