Customs officers from the Ruse Customs Directorate seized a large amount of 553,918 tablets and sachets of stimulants for sexual power when inspecting a truck.

On 26 March 2026, at around 10:30 a.m., in the area of the New Europe Bridge near Vidin, customs inspectors stopped a lorry registered in Bulgaria to check its exit from the country. The driver, a Bulgarian national, submitted documents stating that he was transporting groupage goods from Bulgaria to the Netherlands. When inspecting the cargo, inspectors noticed suspicious pallets wrapped in black foil. After opening a carton from the pallets, it was found to contain packages of sexual stimulants. The vehicle was escorted to the Vidin Customs Office for a thorough customs check.

During the inspection, four pallets with a total gross weight of 2300 kg were found in the cargo, containing boxes with drug stimulants for sexual power. A total of 333,774 tablets and 220,144 sachets of sexual stimulants with inscriptions of various trademarks were found. They have been seized, and work on the case continues.

The check carried out is part of the Customs Agency’s compensatory measures in relation to the lifting of border controls at the EU’s internal borders following Bulgaria’s accession to the Schengen area as a full member.
