Over 16,000 "branded" goods were seized by customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP
14,875 textile products, 1,024 bags and purses and 214 pairs of sports shoes and slippers, with trademark signs, were detained by customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP. The goods were seized due to suspicions of infringement of intellectual property rights. They were discovered during separate inspections of two trucks entering the country from Turkey.
In one of the cases, on 25.06.2026, a tractor with a semi-trailer with a foreign registration arrived at the point. The driver, a Bosnian citizen, presented regular documents for the transported groupage goods from Turkey via Bulgaria to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The truck was selected for a thorough customs inspection of the declared parcels in the cargo hold, and in 45 of them 8,250 blouses, shirts, trousers, T-shirts, 905 bags, 119 purses and 214 sports shoes and slippers were found, all with the markings of world-famous brands.
During an inspection on 29.06.2026 of another truck with Turkish registration, 6,625 textile products were found, of which 2,000 pairs of socks bearing the logos of famous brands. The truck was transporting groupage goods from Turkey to Lithuania.
In compliance with European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the goods were detained. The owners of the respective brands will be notified of the cases.
In June alone, the customs officers of the Kapitan Andreevo BCP detained nearly 100,000 commercial items due to infringement of intellectual property rights.
