Smuggled "branded" clothes and shoes were seized by customs officers from Varna Customs

Customs officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department at the Varna Customs Territorial Directorate seized 5215 contraband clothing and shoes, most of which bore the logos of luxury brands. The undeclared items were found during an inspection of a truck carrying goods from Turkey, import for Bulgaria.
The truck was transporting textile products and footwear under the customs regime "transit" to a customs office in Varna Customs. The goods were declared at Varna Customs for the customs regime "release for free circulation". During the inspection, customs inspectors found 5215 undeclared items among the declared cargo, of which 2010 with word and figurative images of protected trademarks. Among them were jackets and women's shoes made of genuine leather, as well as dresses, men's shirts, T-shirts and other knitwear with logos of world brands. The undeclared goods were seized. Administrative criminal proceedings are to be initiated in the case.
This is the second case in just a few days of a thwarted attempt to import contraband goods from Turkey to the Bulgarian market in Varna. Recently, another 2735 undeclared clothes and 4521 square meters of cotton and synthetic fabric were seized. They were also found during a customs inspection of a truck with Turkish goods under the "transit" customs regime, declared at the Varna Customs for "release for free circulation".
