163 kg of perfume essences and over 27 000 packages for "branded" perfumes seized at Lesovo BCP

A large quantity of 163 kg of concentrated perfume essences and over 27 000 paper packages with the designations of world-famous brands were detained by customs officers at Lesovo BCP due to reasonable suspicions of violated intellectual property rights. The goods were discovered during a customs inspection of a truck.
The vehicle with a foreign registration arrives at the Lesovo BCP on 07.06.2026 on an inbound route into the country. In the customs control area, the driver, a Ukrainian citizen, presented documents stating that he was transporting parcels with groupage goods from Turkey to Ukraine via Bulgaria. After an operational analysis, the customs officers selected the truck for a thorough inspection.
During the control actions, the inspectors found that 8 of the declared parcels contained a total of 163 kg of concentrated perfume essences in plastic and metal packages of various capacities, all with inscriptions of luxury perfume brands. In another 15 declared parcels, a total of 27 200 cardboard perfume packages with logos of various world brands were found. The quantity of empty “brand” packages approximately corresponds to the quantity of perfumes that can be obtained from the concentrated essences.
The goods were seized in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 608/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of intellectual property rights. The owners of the relevant protected trademarks will be notified of the case. Work on the case is ongoing.
This is the largest quantity of concentrated essences for "branded" perfumes and packaging for them, detained at the Lesovo BCP in recent years.
