Over 32,000 "branded" textile products seized customs officers at the Kapitan Petko Voivoda border crossing area
Customs officers from the "Customs Investigation and Intelligence" department at theTerritorial Directorate Plovdiv Customs seized 32,452 textile products with trademark signs. The goods were seized due to suspicions of intellectual property rights violations. They were discovered during an inspection of a truck with Polish registration entering the country from Greece through the Kapitan Petko Voivoda border crossing area on 08.05.2026. The driver is a Turkish citizen, who presented documents for the transport of textile products from Turkey to France. After a risk analysis, customs officers selected the vehicle for a thorough customs inspection. It was established that in the cargo hold, among the declared goods, there were a total of 32,452 textile products, most of which were T-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers, socks, towels bearing logos of famous brands.
In compliance with European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the goods have been seized. The owners of the respective trademarks will be notified of the cases.
