On January 9, 2019, during the inspection, customs mobile group team seized illegal smoking tobacco in courier shipments in Plovdiv. Customs officers found 39 wrapped packages containing dry brownish cut foliage with the smell of tobacco, with a total gross weight of 120 kg. Shipments from Plovdiv were destined for recipients in different settlements in the country. For the tobacco not presented any documents of origin or paid excise duty under The Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act. A pre-court proceeding has been initiated on the case.
