Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized nearly 14,000 "branded" goods

Most of the goods were discovered during a centralized risk analysis

Nearly 14,000 "branded" goods, including clothes, perfumes and sports shoes, seized customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP. The goods were discovered in May during seven separate inspections of vehicles entering the country from Turkey.
In one of the cases, on 05.05.2026, at 13.15, a truck with a foreign registration arrived at the checkpoint, transporting goods from Turkey through Bulgaria to Hungary. After a centralized risk analysis, an inspection was carried out by a mobile team and inspectors of the Kapitan Andreevo BCP, which established that among the declared goods, in 34 of the parcels, there were textile products bearing the logos of protected trademarks. 4328 textile products were discovered, most of which were T-shirts and sports teams.
A few days later, on 07.05.2026, another 3589 textile products, with logos of 17 world-famous trademarks, were found in a Turkish-registered cargo van. The "branded" goods were in 25 out of a total of 49 parcels transported from Turkey to France.
During four separate inspections of two buses, one car and a truck, a total of 2210 perfumes and toilet waters, 1769 clothes and 224 pairs of shoes were seized, all bearing word and figurative images of trademarks.
In accordance with European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property, the goods were seized. The owners of the respective trademarks will be notified of the cases.
In another case, at the beginning of the month, a report was drawn up under the Customs Act against a Turkish driver for undeclared 1824 perfumes and toilet waters of various brands. He hid them in the cargo hold in boxes with declared room fresheners, which he was transporting from Turkey to Germany. During the control actions, in some of the boxes instead of fresheners, customs officers found perfumes and toilet waters. The fragrances have been detained and the trademark owners will be notified of the case.
Since the beginning of the year, customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP were seized nearly 270,000 commercial items due to violations of intellectual property rights.
