Diverted transit of goods worth nearly BGN 400,000 was discovered by the customs officers from Kapitan Andreevo BCP
A diversion of cigarettes, perfumes and sunglasses worth BGN 394,146 from the customs regime "Transit" was discovered by the customs officers from Kapitan Andreevo BCP.
According to the documents, the goods were traveling in a truck with Turkish registration. The truck arrived on 08.04.2025 on the route "Exit trucks". The driver, a Turkish citizen, declared that he was transporting groupage goods from Germany through Bulgaria and Turkey to Georgia, for which he had submitted invoices and customs declarations. The truck was weighed and registered on an electronic scale, which reported a lower weight than declared on the documents. During the subsequent customs inspection of the vehicle, including X-rays, the customs officers found that most of the goods - cigarettes, perfumes and sunglasses, described in documents, were missing from the cargo compartment of the truck.
Pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office - Haskovo - Territorial Department - Svilengrad.
