Nearly 12 000 smuggled "branded" goods were seized by customs officers at Lesovo BCP

A large quantity of 11 610 contraband "branded" goods was seized by customs officers at Lesovo BCP during an inspection of a truck. Undeclared sports teams, scarves, bags - all bearing the markings of world-famous brands were found.
The truck with Turkish registration arrived at the Lesovo BCP on 20.11.2024, at around 22:40, on an inbound route into the country. In the customs control area, the driver, a Turkish citizen with the initials A.D., presented documents stating that he was transporting groupage goods from Turkey to the Czech Republic, Germany and the Netherlands via Bulgaria. Officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department selected the vehicle for a thorough inspection. During the control actions with specialized X-ray equipment, suspicious areas in the cargo were identified. A physical inspection was carried out, during which a total of 11 610 undeclared textile and leather products were found in the marked areas - sports teams, scarves and bags, all with logos of luxury brands.
The smuggled goods were seized and pre-trial proceedings were initiated in the case based on the inventory of the TD Bourgas Customs, which is being conducted by an investigating customs inspector, under the supervision of the Yambol District Prosecutor's Office.
The inspection was carried out as part of the joint anti-smuggling operation, with the participation of teams from National Customs Agency, the DG Border Police, the DG Combating Organized Crime and the National Revenue Agency.
