Customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized smuggled medicines and "branded" goods

Nearly 780 boxes of smuggled medicines, food supplements and "branded" goods were seized customs officers at the Kapitan Andreevo BCP during an inspection of a passenger car entering the country from Turkey.
On 18.06.2026, a passenger car with a foreign registration arrived at the checkpoint. The driver, a Ukrainian citizen, was traveling with two other men from Turkey via Bulgaria to Ukraine. In the customs control area, the driver declared that he was carrying 292 textile items and 10 belts, all with logos of famous brands. The man also declared 10,400 stickers for car rims with figurative and word images of trademarks. The goods were detained due to suspicions that they infringe intellectual property rights.
The vehicle was selected for a thorough customs inspection. During the control activities, a total of 774 undeclared boxes of medicines and dietary supplements for various purposes, including high cholesterol, osteoporosis, diabetes and depression, were found in the driver's personal luggage.
The smuggled medicines were seized, and the offender was charged with an administrative violation under the Customs Act.
