A large amount of undeclared clothing worth BGN 127 000 was detained by the customs officers of the Lesovo BCP during an inspection of a truck. 
The inspection is part of the overall anti-smuggling operations with the participation of officers from National Customs Agency, the DG Border Police, the DG Combating Organized Crime and the National Revenue Agency.
On 19.07.2024, the cargo combination with a foreign registration arrived at Lesovo BCP on an inbound route into the country, driven by a Turkish citizen with the initials A.B.
The driver presented documents that he was transporting textiles, shoes and belts from Turkey to Romania via Bulgaria. The vehicle was selected by the customs officers for a thorough inspection, during which the inspectors found among the cargo 62 parcels with undeclared textile products.
A total of 6660 undeclared sports teams, children's and men's pants, shirts and other clothing were found in the parcels. According to the expertise carried out by an expert, the total value of the contraband textiles amounts to BGN 127 000.
In the case, a pre-trial proceeding was initiated by an investigating customs inspector, which is being conducted under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office - Yambol.
