Customs officers at Kapitan Andreevo BCP seized 307 antique coins and 11 antique items. They were discovered during an inspection of a truck entering the country from Turkey. The freight unit, consisting of a tractor and a semi-trailer with foreign registration, arrived at the checkpoint on September 19, 2025, around noon.

After conducting a risk analysis, the vehicle was selected for a thorough customs inspection. During the control actions, the customs inspectors discovered a box of vegetables in the right compartment of the semitrailer, and beneath them, two plastic bags containing antique items. A total of 307 coins and 11 objects were found, which, according to the initial expert assessment, are cultural values under Article 7, paragraph 1 of the Cultural Heritage Act. According to the metal, they are classified as silver, bronze, and lead.

The smuggled coins and items have been seized and will be sent for examination. The investigation of the case continues. A report under the Customs Law has been issued against the driver of the truck.
